Nick and Katie are back this week looking to tackle the question of whether or not Battle for Azeroth is Mists of Pandaria 2.0? And who better to help answer that question than two of Halfhill’s finest residents, special guests Toshmifune and Professor Taliep from the Halfhill Report!

Nick fawns over the Halfhill Report for the first part of the show and asks Tosh and Taliep how they got started in WoW and how they started the Halfhill Report. He mentions knowing people like Rizhak and asks about how Velmic does his inn reviews. He also mentions their interview with Thunk Da Peon as being a great episode, and Tosh talks about the origins of that episode.

Finally, they start to get into discussing MoP and BfA. Nick brings up Tides of War and talks about Jaina and Kalec hooking up, which gets Katie ranting on the relationship. They talk about the Jade Forest and how Mists of Pandaria focused on our characters bringing war to a pristine location, while Zandalar and Kul Tiras seem more closely connected to the war already. Tosh talks about how the Horde and Alliance are occupying forces and his “Free Pandaria!” mantra is about trying to excise them from the continent. Nick tries to compare the tragedy of losing Theramore with the loss of the the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. They consider the consquences of Sylvanas’ reign. They look at a comparison of Garrosh’s arc and the crux of Sylvanas’ character. Ultimately, they agree that while there are common themes, this is not a direct retelling of the story.

Hosts

Nick Zielenkievicz

Host of WoW! Talk! and The Tauren & The Goblin. Sometimes known as the Video Games Public Defender. Wants to play more Destiny and Marvel Heroes but WoW is all-consuming. Decent F2P Hearthstone player. Sad that he lost the Wii that had Wrecking Crew on it. Would be happy if the only game ever made was M.U.L.E. Gragtharr on Skywall-US. Garresque on Ravencrest-US.

Katie Grace

Katie is a long time gamer who has fallen in love with multiple genres. She started young by playing Nintendo 64, Spyro, and Blizzard games such as Warcraft II with family, then eventually moved into playing games in both my leisure time and as a occupation. She loves being immersed in different universes and exploring the characters that live in them, as well as just playing games for a good time.
